One of my biggest interests is education, particularly using technology to create meaningful educational experiences. To feed this passion, I am currently pursuing a post-graduate degree in Game Design with a focus on educational games from the University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg.

Brittany Wagenaar

Data Science Associate, Luno

Whether at work or in her personal life, Brittany loves to analyse the underlying meaning in what people say. Brittany started her career at a Big Data Lab, where she primarily focused on market basket analysis and finding habits in consumer purchasing behaviour. After moving to Cape Town, Brittany entered the FinTech industry and joined the Luno data team. Here she spends most of her time working with operational data and analysing customer text data through sentiment analysis and text classification techniques. She loves to pursue the mystical relationship between words, using pre-trained word embeddings and Neural Networks.

When she’s not wrangling data, Brittany can be found enjoying a glass of wine in the sunshine.
